My life in different countries and different continents exposed me to different languages. When you live your life in different languages, your are living different lifestyles at the same time. you acquire the capacity of looking at your own life and at the life of people around you from different perspectives. Usually the language you don't know you don't think about how does it look like or how does it feel like to learn this language? Does it have strengths and weaknesses?, Does it have any kind of beauty? how would that beauty seem like? ... does it add anything to my mind and my way of living? I have never asked my self these questions before learning English language, neither before learning French language, nor before learning Arabic. Arabic !!! ... I found this language one of the mysteries of the humanity, it is rich, deep, vast, powerful and wonderful,
When I started learning Arabic I immediately fell in love with it, I loved the way it is written, I loved the way it is pronounced, and I loved the power it has when it is used. Every word has the deepest meaning you can ever experience, and many many words can be used for different meanings. The translation of some words is almost impossible sometimes because the word itself does not exist in other languages, which makes its meaning just unique. Reading poems in Arabic takes you on a journey to the deepest corner of the human mind and the human heart and soul where you find all the hidden capacities of the humanity. Writing the letters of the Arabic language is a form of art that catches your eyes and your heart. |

The incredible marriage of the French and Arabic ... impacted this place and the life of its people. People in this place are not French ... they are Muslim Arabs, they are Algerians but in addition to the Arabic, Amazight and French is their languages too. This collection of languages made their life deep, vast and rich at the same time, it created the cultural and linguistic harmony that made this place special and unique. The richness of the merged cultures created a unique type of people, that have the opportunity to practice more than one language in their daily life, which allowed them to be more than ordinary persons. looking at life from different perspectives, and practicing life in different ways .... there is where I come from, there where my roots and origins are...'' |

Algeria Algeria is a North African country with a 1200 km of a Mediterranean coastline and a Saharan desert interior. Many empires have left legacies here, such as the ancient Roman ruins in seaside Tipaza. In the capital, Algiers, Ottoman landmarks like circa-1612 Ketchaoua Mosque line the hillside Casbah quarter, with its narrow alleys and stairways. The city’s Neo-Byzantine basilica Notre Dame d’Afrique dates to French colonial rule.

French ... that language that takes me back to my childhood. I learned French in a very early age of my life, I learned it, I loved it, and I used it my whole life. It has always been part of my daily conversations with other languages. French is a language that makes those who speak it both calm and dynamic. (Bernard Pivot) What I love most about this language is it's richness and profoundness, I love the way it is pronounced, the way it sounds is just so beautiful and mesmerizing. It is also very diverse and has many nuances and details which makes it sophisticated in a very special way. The richness of it's literature. From Baudelaire to Balzac to Flaubert and many other great writers who left a mark on history. The place that France held in history also helped It's language become kind of elegant and superior. There was a time in Europe when it was considered as the language of aristocracy and the elite and refined society. |
